The Explore Scientific 8x50 Erect Image Finder Scope produces a wide 6° field of view and allows precision focus of both main objective and eyepiece illuminated reticle. A precision polished roof prism produces right-side-up images that are left-to-right correct. This means that you'll be viewing the sky as it truly is, so locating objects is so much easier. The view is straight-through, which is great for those of you who like to use both eyes to locate objects.
The illuminated reticle has two features that make finding objects much more enjoyable. First, it has an open center so that the reticle does not cover objects in the center of your view. Secondly, scale markings at 1.5°, 3°, and 4.5° (the edge of the field of view is the 6° boundary) allow you an easy reference for the exact field of view you are seeing.
The 55° apparent field, 16mm long eye-relief eyepiece produces a bright 7mm exit pupil and will allow you to find faint galaxies, comets, and nebulae. All optics are EMD Coated to insure maximum contrast. The deep red illumination is continuously variable to provide the desired brightness. Many customers have expressed that it is best viewfinder/finderscope they have ever used on their telescopes.
